• The costs associated with organ transplants vary widely.  Organ transplantation and associated costs range from approximately $400,000 to $1.6 million dollars.
  
• Medical costs include insurance deductibles and co-pays, pre-operative evaluation and testing, surgery, organ recovery fees, follow-up visits, and medications.​
  
• Non-medical costs include: travel expenses to and from the transplant center numerous times, food, lodging, and lost income from inability to work (both patient and family members).
  

The Mary Bennion Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to assist individuals and their families with travel-related financial obligations involved in the organ transplant process.
